Thursday: Today's mini-rant: I have been feeling quite homesick for the past two weeks. Then today, a fellow compatriot gave me extremely bad customer service and wiped all that out of my heart. She reminded me of the stuff people do to protect what they feel is an attack to their person. She took out 80% of my eyebrows by threading them to an inch of their lives, then when I actually burst out crying because I have an interview next week and she's effectively ruined the entire shape, she blamed me: YOU should have told ME that you just wanted them shaped and not thinned. Well, honey, I not only have received shoddy service but you've placed blame on me. I will definitely not be using your services again. Second time I've been blamed this year for someone giving me bad service... and both have been desis from my own country. I am no longer homesick. Giving Up Once-And-For-All I’ve been reading through old journals, finding the ends of threads for the book I am writing. It’s a humbling experience. Repeatedly- sometimes only days apart- I have written in celebration and gratitude about realizing an insight or perspective that seems to clear all confusion and offer new possibilities for health and happiness. The humbling part is that the content of these insights are often very similar, if not identical to each other. Reading, I groan and think, “Oh good grief! My body stil lfeels as though I have been hit by a monster truck. I have bruises on my right forearm. Legs, joints, knees... all paining. Back... a good pain. Spine, rather.
