Moving back to God

Oh Allah, aidez moi... I understand that because of the Reiki and unleashing or unblocking of the energy that lies within and without, I am having these very bizarre and lucid dreams. But seriously, did today's have to focus quite so much on Umair. To the point where I'm dreaming of his parents and him being depressed and and him deciding whether or not he wants to be in a relationship with me and me loving him so much. I mean, come on! all that just cannot be suppressed into my subconsciousness and a part of wish fulfillment, can it? I had better pray my salaat today. My soul is aching for it, but I still listen to my nafs and Satan and my body is so tired. The good news is I've slept. Amazing sleep, sans les médications. I'm making up for two entire weeks. I slept all day yday. And I have three new kittens to name... ah, their fur is so soft. All Praise is for Allah. The things in need to remove from my system are: impulsivity short sightedness greed conceit lack of f...

Pulp Fiction

It has got to be one of the funniest films I have seen. Simple concepts, intertwining stories, AMAZING acting. And just so darned funny. Violence? Puh-leese. There was more violence in Scream. The second Samuel L. Jackson movie I've liked, after A Time To Kill. Not that I've seen the entire of Reservoir Dogs, but this was definitely better. Worth watching for the interaction between John Travolta and Samuel L. Jackson. Hilarious. "You didn't say please." And Tim Roth's Mockney accent is flawless. Contrast with the Ocean's 11 dude. Worse accent ever, even worse than mine! Cocked up Cake As for the cake, complete and utter disaster. It's definitely the way I fold in the flour. I literally beat out all the air bubbles, and then I wonder: huh, why is it completely flat? Tasted good though. I owe Taz (and all you lot) a proper cake - but only after I've spoilt 50 or so others. I just became cocky after the success of the coffee cake. I couldn't get ...

Memoirs of a Geisha

After having watched 'Memoirs of a Geisha' just today, I now have more of an appreciation of Japanese culture and Japanese women, most of whom are quite beautiful (well, the actresses in the film and a few students I knew at Glendon were). I finally have regained enough concentration to follow an entire film. And read chapter after chapter of 'The Kite Runner'. It's such a melancholic book that when someone dies, I feel a sense of relief. That they've gone to a better place than this shitty place called Earth. Umair emailed me today. Boys just cannot take hints. Oh well. I have no clue how to tell him I no longer want to keep in touch. I have nothing to offer this friendship, seeing as my soul and life have withered like an old palm branch, sucked dry and are dank with disappointment and despair. This 'friendship' is useless. One should throw away something that is useless, or rather, harmful to one's growth. A mon avis. But it made me recall somethi...

In Her Shoes

i carry your heart with me e. e. cummings i carry your heart with me (i carry it in my heart) i am never without it (anywhere i go you go, my dear; and whatever is done by only me is your doing, my darling) i fear no fate (for you are my fate, my sweet) i want no world (for beautiful you are my world, my true) and it's you are whatever a moon has always meant and whatever a sun will always sing is you here is the deepest secret nobody knows (here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud and the sky of the sky of a tree called life; which grows higher than soul can hope or mind can hide) and this is the wonder that's keeping the stars apart i carry your heart (i carry it in my heart) This poem is from the film In Her Shoes, which is really brilliant. The script was superb. Toni Collette is always great. I cried when Maggie read the poem out to Rose at the end. Which is why I had to post it here. I should read more of e. e. cummings as well. I am feeling agitated today, and...
