Sometimes you're so physically sick and exhausted that even a blog post is impossible, let alone finishing off work - this better have some Divine plan for the highest good.
Sometimes you ask the wrong person for help and the person who you were afraid to speak to, comes through for you.
Sometimes you feel so sick that no amount of energy healing is working today.
Sometimes you want people to come to your house and then you realise there's no one here to do that.
Sometimes you really want something tasty and spicy and wish you'd bought though spicy desi snacks instead of exercising self-control.
Sometimes you get really sick that you feel really restless and can't think how to shift it.
Sometimes you really like a song, it slides inside you and off of you in smoooooothness - but you still feel sick and miserable.
Sometime you wish you had a man who loved you so he could cuddle you right now and make you feel sexy, even though you're on your period and are feeling as sick as a parrot you can't even smile or look straight.
Sometimes you need a miracle so you can go to work tomorrow.
Sometimes, sometimes, sometimes - all seems lost.
Sometimes you forget how quickly it gets dark when the clocks go back, and you forget how cloudy it gets in London.
Sometimes, you just hang on to the rope of Allah for lack of any other solutions.
Sometimes you wish you were the strong one in all of your relationships and hate you can't take away the pain and hurt and sadness from your friends.
Sometimes you wish you didn't come up with such lame blog posts.
Sometimes you wish you had a man who would take you out to what seems like a nice film - The Ides of March. A few hours later: nah, wouldn't want to see it. My interest in films seems to have vanished for good.
Sometimes you wish you could go back to liking films and books and all the rest of it.
Sometimes a good deed you do really makes you feel on top of the world and realise that it's just £££ - that you currently have more than she does and her thanks and her smile were God's honest truth.
Sometimes coincidences are actually synchronicities and even things that frustrate you like this physical illness that keeps you at home instead of working has a divine plan (well, it better had)
Sometimes people really don't care about the things that you do care about, at least in the moment. And as long as you genuinely care about those issues, like wrongful imprisonment of your fellow humans by the godawful wahhabi Saudis while doing their Hajj, other people's apathy and self centredness doesn't matter, since you don't care when something happens to someone else - its true.
Sometimes you realise that this is a really crap post, and you're going to publish it anyway because you've spent 20 minutes on it.
And sometimes your dad gets so much du'a because he surprises you with oven baked potato wedges, spring rolls and samosas just when you were really needing spicy foods to stave off the illness and the nausea brought on by the fever.
And sometimes you look out the window and see it is time for Maghrib so you decide to quiet down and pray to your Lord to show you a way out of this, so that tomorrow is a better day and you can achieve that which needs to be done re: work and life in general.
And still, sometimes you are asking please show me how You can make this any better than it currently is, in all areas.
And sometimes you get a nice friend buying you a hot chocolate and a brownie and you slag off men for 1/2 an hour outside Caffé Nero, the café the man-boy wanted to meet you at last year - and the friend says hey, it's better that way, since it wasn't going to work out and he's such a lamer - and you know that to be correct. You didn't create any real memories, at least. Just fabricated ones.
And then you make the middle aged man laugh at the table next to you as you say to her about her new crush "Please remember that falling in love with the wrong man is not the best thing to do". He says that I'm right and it's the same about falling for the wrong woman and then he advises us to never show all your cards :)
And sometimes, you just ramble on and on on your blog because of all the disappointments and shattered dreams and you've come to the conclusion that by classifying all men as homosexuals and therefore unavailable, you can let go of the seemingly inordinate desires you have for love and marriage and marital bliss.
And you want to tell one of the friends who may actually read this that her free association blog saddened you and that it will happen and that you wish you could bring that special person to her doorstep for a Timbit - ooops glazed something something - eating competition :) And that you wish you could take away all the hurt and all the pain - all of it. From her heart, from her entire being and also from that of everyone's heart.
Sometimes you wish you really were that magical, powerful goddess.
*sigh*
And sometimes you really do end the ridiculous post you've created and go eat some more samosas that you've only just realised were in the freezer since Ramadhan and you forgot about them! :)
