You've just gotta love being a Romantic. These psychology and personality people just bang the nail on the head. Every single time.
Your Type Four EnneaThought for January 7th—
Today, notice if you are playing the role of the "Special One," or the "Mysterious Outsider?" Do you need to base your self-image on how unlike other people you are? Does putting your own personal stamp on everything really make it more valuable? (The Wisdom of the Enneagram, 189)
Although I haven't felt like that for a few weeks, I obviously feel like that and aspire to be that alarmingly often. Hating everything that is "generic", for starters.
I have also made sure that Irish is aware that I'm not going to be a generic friend to someone who just adds people on FB at the drop of a hat, in my very blunt and aggressive manner. After the usual pleasantries, I said, in a formal, neutral way, that there's no reason for us to be friends since we don't talk anyway and he has such a low opinion of me (he said that I was "still playing the usual games"). And that since we don't know each other at all, there's no point. I also requested him to get the girlfriend off my back and to stop harassing me on FB.
Unfortunate how things end up, but there's no manual for these things and, anyway, I don't listen to well-founded and practical advice (Tazeen told me to let it go and not ask him, especially when I know I won't get a candid response...).
If it's another incident of self-sabotage, fuck that. I'm done with him. I'm done trying to mould myself in a certain manner and censor myself so as to not offend him. If he says one thing, and I come back with ten, and then he gets revenge by keeping silent and cutting off, so be it.
I've not had this much trouble with any of my other friends. With those whom I have a functional relationship with. Who give and receive and to whom I give my love and loyalty. And who earn my respect, or at the very least my affections, as a result of their investing a bit of themselves in me, no matter how small a part.
Don't want him as a flipping "friend". What friend? It took him 5 weeks to realise I'd deleted him from my FB list. I'm learning how to forgive him and to be flexible and hold less expectations from mere mortal males. That's all he is, a bunch of smack-on-the-head lessons. I am going to learn all that because I am not going through this all over again.
Untouchable by Darren Hayes on Grooveshark. How I cried when listening to that song when he kept dumping me.
Remember that.
You can't regret him. There's nothing there. A complete disconnect, you're naive and he's just odd and repressed.
He's not your twin flame. He's just one of 3,000 soul mates. Accept it and work through the karma that you both agreed to teach each other.
There, that makes it seem like it makes sense. It doesn't. Whatever.
Except, I just added him back to FB.
He now has 316 "friends". w00t! Definitely a collector.
Ugh. At least I'm over him. And he can be my first, almost-conquest. Whatever. I think I've finally realised that it's all just a bunch of clicks. Add, delete. Type, not type. Love, indifference. Attract, repel. All done in the safe cocoons of virtual reality.
How the hell was this 'real' to me? Jesus.
Today's forecast was: Travel. Monkey wrenches. Trusting my intuition.
Spot on, Decoz. The only thing was I didn't met anyone interesting. Or rather, didn't have a heart-to-heart with anyone at all. No new acquaintances made. Three out of four ain't half bad...
