Ramadhan

What is this joy they keep talking about? This peace from Allah, it must be real. Allah who loves us like the Christians say but without the smugness? Without the self righteousness and the focus on just accumulating wealth? I’ve always thought that my way of living was a pious way, of thinking of being sad of being negative…… that it’s okay not to succeed, because Allah doesn’t want you to be proud. I’ve failed and I’m still full of pride and am so stingy I don’t pay my khums or my sadaqa, I gave money to someone that perhaps I was better advised not to. There’s no right answer at all.

I used to love to write, but there’s no meat in my words.

Control over my own emotions, that sounds something good and decent. Anger, envy, pride, sadness, laziness…. Even if Wayne Dyer says it.

I am so guilty about being so blind about all the things Allah gave me, taking things for granted.

Take responsibility, don’t blame other people and circumstances. They don’t help you to get past it now.

Self doubt: one life to live. Disliking yourself – what’s the point of disliking myself? Keeping myself miserable. Being a burden on another is selfishness. That is my reality. Loving yourself is selfish? A person who dislikes himself is the biggest burden around. Doesn’t know how to be happy, blaming others, doesn’t know how to be happy. Not to be better than others, in order for me to be happy I have to love myself. Authentic self acceptance. cherish yourself as a valuable significant person, unique and carry yourself that way.

Self rejection, always putting yourself down… rejecting compliments.

I believed it, that I’m not important enough, and I bought into it- even today. They didn’t do it to me, I allowed it to happen and now am no longer willing to reject myself.

Jealousy – what does it say about myself? Why would I allow myself to go through this unnecessary suffering and pain? I am no longer going to treat myself as a shabby person…. State of immobilization- deserving of satisfaction

Approval of others: others opinion more important than your own opinion of yourself. Others opinion doesn’t say who I am but must respect parents and elders.

I want, enjoy approval but I don’t need it.

I think the reason why we don’t have these types of speakers in shia islam is because we have this always in our heads we are sinners and only good comes from Allah. So how to have optimism then? Be a pleasant muslim.

Being trapped to the past: free yourself.

OH MY God: these motivational speakers are really not getting it right: don’t feel guilt at all? Are you kidding? “this is how I dress, this is who I am?” sorry, I choose not to believe in that. That is not true for me. Not for when it comes to my parents. But others, such as friends and strangers and enemies, yes.

Erroneous zone: does it immobilise me in the present? Answer is yes, then you have to work at it my darling Sukaina!

Fear of the unknown, prejudice against changing: staying with familiar as security.

Teacher in any form: when the student is ready, the teacher will appear. And things will pass you by until you’re ready.

Prejudging things: prejudging life. Something I couldn’t do, wouldn’t like. Openness to new experience. Do things. For you Sukaina, you have to DO things. Immobilised.

There is no such thing as outer security. There is only inner security. Inner direction. No security in outside world at all. All structures are unstable. Future is just a thought. Security from wealth and power – no. What happens when the people are no longer there, the food is no longer growing, the house is no longer there, the mother is no longer there.

Paralysis, if you believe imperfection. Paralysed all your life.

I can write, I am a good writer. I am an ethical writer, following the ahlul bayt’s codes of conduct.

Justice trap, demanding life be fair. You’re busy cultivating other peoples gardens instead of yours.

Why am I choosing not to do that?

Procrastination: stopping yourself from action.

The parents

Your Type Four EnneaThought for January 13th— Reflect on your childhood today. As a child, did you believe you were not like your parents? Did you feel that you were not "seen" by your parents and that you did not connect sufficiently with your parents? As an adult, what does this have to do with you now? (The Wisdom of the Enneagram, 182) As I've said myriad times before, these things just slap me in the face with a wet fish most days. I suppose it makes sense that I should send Reiki healing to my relationships with my father and my mother. Haven't really done that for ages. It's too hard sometimes, I choose to ignore and avoid dealing with them mainly because these are the two people I've been connected with since birth. A lot of effort is required in order to 'let things slide'. Living with my dad is hell, and I'm co-creating it on purpose, as part of my desire to annoy, to hurt him the way he hurts me. My mum, well, I guess we'...

Je dois écrire

Je dois écrire . L'ironie est que quand j'avais le temps, je na'i pu pas fair rien . Doesn't matter, I have to write. I keep listening to poets like Keane and Travis and Darren Hayes and I'm here, with the creativity finally bursting forth again, and what's more, the joie de vivre bursting through and I'm not writing and I'm not taking pictures and I'm doing bloody cashier work at Oxfam. I am a swan, I am a seagull that glides and glides. I am the tree, the squirrel. Words are all I have to make myself different from you lot. To make myself lighter, somewhat more worthy. How low is my self esteem that I still believe those falsehoods. I just cannot find people on my wave length. It means I never shall. Or I do and because of my skin colour or because I am behind the Oxfam counter, or because I am in Morden, or London, or the UK, I shall never know. An opera singer. A person who wants to wear kurtis but is scared of going into a desi shop i...

Judgement

Tarot Card Interpretation & Meaning - (20) Judgment Introduction: Judgment can be a card about jumping to conclusions, decisions and judgments. which are too hastily made. If you are prone to such things, this is a clear signal to slow down and give things more thought and to give people "more chances." This can be a real time of spiritual awakening.           General: In general, if you are the one tending to jump to conclusions, you can put a stop to it. If others are making these kinds of decisions about you or about someone you care for, there is really very little you can do, apart from realizing that it's their problem, not yours. Health: This is an important time to let go of the past and any wrongs that you perceive were done to you, particularly if you are dealing with chronic medical issues. Letting go of your need to be right will go a long way toward helping you to feel better. Besides, if ...
